Post-Op Lymph Drainage
🩹 Post-Operative Recovery
Support your healing — gently, effectively, and professionally.
At Awakening Healing Center, LLC, I offer specialized post-operative care for clients recovering from both cosmetic and orthopedic surgeries. Healing is not just about rest — it’s about moving fluid, releasing restrictions, and restoring balance without pushing your body too soon.
We use Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) based on the original Vodder Method, a gentle and rhythmic technique that works directly with your lymphatic system to reduce swelling, support detoxification, and speed up the healing process.
💧 What MLD Is — and Isn't
MLD is not a deep or painful massage. It’s not about pushing or draining fluid aggressively.
MLD is a light, precise touch designed to stimulate lymphatic flow through delicate vessels just under the skin. True Vodder-style MLD uses a specific sequence and technique to open lymphatic pathways and move excess fluid safely, especially after surgery when tissues are fragile and reactive.
✨ Ideal For:
Cosmetic Surgery Recovery: Liposuction, tummy tuck, breast augmentation/reduction, mommy makeover
Orthopedic Surgery Recovery: Joint replacement, rotator cuff, ACL/MCL, spine surgeries
General Post-Surgical Support: C-section, hernia repair, scar tissue management
We often integrate Myofascial Release and gentle cupping (when appropriate) as part of your ongoing care plan, always respecting your body’s stage of healing.
Intake Guidelines & Session Frequency
We welcome clients starting one week post-op, or once surgical drains have been removed or your surgeon has cleared you for lymphatic therapy.
For best results, we recommend 2–3 sessions per week initially, depending on your body, the procedure, and how your healing is progressing. We’ll adjust the frequency based on your individual needs and response to treatment.
🕊️ Post-Op Self-Care Tips:
Stay hydrated. The lymph system relies on fluid intake to function properly.
Move gently. Light walking or movement helps stimulate natural lymph flow.
Avoid pressure or deep massage. For at least 3 months post-op, unless cleared by your doctor.
Wear compression garments as advised. They work in synergy with MLD to reduce swelling.
Rest — but don’t stay still too long. Balance activity and rest to support circulation.
Honor your healing timeline. Everyone’s body responds differently. Trust your pace.
We’re here to support you with skilled, compassionate care that helps you feel safe, nurtured, and seen every step of the way. Whether you're a few days post-op or several months into recovery, your session will be tailored to meet your body where it is — and help you move forward with confidence.
